Recruitment and Retention of Qualified Personnel for Children with Disabilities
The National Center to Improve Recruitment and Retention of Qualified Personnel for Children with Disabilities (Personnel Improvement Center) is a federally funded technical assistance and dissemination project that was funded on October 1, 2008. Its mission is to increase the nation's capacity to recruit, prepare and retain diverse and highly qualified special educators, early intervention providers, and related service providers, including paraprofessionals, to meet the need.
The Center's Web site offers a chance for prospective educators and providers to explore special education-related careers. Watch as early intervention specialists describe what it is like to be an early intervention specialist in the video A Day in the Life....
